Alasdhair Willis Named Creative Director Of Hunter

ALASDHAIR WILLIS is the new creative director of Hunter. The London-based entrepreneur, and husband of designer Stella McCartney, takes the helm of the heritage boot brand with immediate effect.

Fabrizio Stroppa - who has previously worked at Mulberry, Giorgio Armani and Donna Karan - has also been named commercial sales director. Both new appointments will report to CEO James Seuss, who joined the label in December 2012.
"It is a genuine honour and a tremendous opportunity to be in this role at such a significant moment for Hunter," said Willis. "Hunter is a fantastic British brand with enormous potential.  It has a very strong history dating back nearly 160 years, and I believe the Hunter story and spirit are just as relevant today. Going forward, we will be focused on expanding the footwear business while building on the exciting opportunities in other categories such as outerwear."
Willis' debut collection for the Wellington boot label will land for autumn/winter 2014-15. It's confirmed that he will also continue to work at the brand consultancy companies he co-founded, Announcement and The Anonymous Partner.
"Alasdhair Willis brings amazing creative talent, style, and commercial realisation to the helm of Hunter," said Seuss. "His experience with British heritage brands and developing brands globally makes him an ideal choice to lead the creative team at Hunter as we enter our next stage of growth.  Alasdhair will define the vision for the brand and develop our creative voice, while working closely with our strong commercial team to bring the world of Hunter to consumers worldwide."

I wonder if the boots will have animal skin, and if so, what Stella thinks of it.

That being said, Congrats!

(and yes he is hot)

Hunter boots are not made of leather ,their Wellies are very popular and I hope they'll relocate back in Britain,as curently they manufacture in China which is a shame for a BRITISH brand.

I agree with Laura! I'm an American and so many of our well-known brands are now being manufactured (cheaply) in China. Wellies are British and should be made in Britain!

I agree too,but I never understand these brands, they relocate to china as it's ceaper for them but they lose a lot in quality and credibility,I wish that most brands reconsider that,I for one never buy anything with the made in cina in it whatever the brand is.
