6/10/11: Paul McCartney at MGM Grand Garden Arena

Paul McCartney @ MGM

It’s been a jam-packed three days for Sir Paul McCartney in The Entertainment Capital of the World, with all three including rousing standing ovations for the music legend.
On Wednesday, with fiancee Nancy Shevell at his side, the prolific and successful singer-songwriter and Beatles legend celebrated the fifth anniversary of The Beatles Love by Cirque du Soleil at the Mirage in an evening that also included Yoko Ono, Sean Lennon, Olivia Harrison, Dhani Harrison, Sir George Martin, Giles Martin, Cirque du Soleil executives, The Killers, Slash, T-Pain, Elijah Wood and many more.
Thursday night was a private performance for a corporate party, and last night was the full-on spotlight at MGM Grand Garden Arena in a tour globally sponsored by Hewlett-Packard. Thanks to Tom Donoghue and Las Vegas Sun photographer Justin M. Bowen for their photo galleries of the eternally young Englishman, whose audience included Ono, Lennon, Olivia Harrison and the Martins.
Last night’s scheduled -- and long -- set list: “Magical Mystery Tour,” “Juniors Farm,” “All My Loving,” “Jet,” “Got to Get You Into My Life,” “Sing the Changes,” “Let Me Roll With It,” “Long and Winding Road,” “1985,” “Let Em In,” “I’m Looking Through You,” “And I Love Her,” “Blackbird,” “Here Today,” “Dance Tonight,” “Mrs. Vanderbilt,” “Eleanor Rigby,” “Something,” “Band on the Run,” “Obla Di Obla Da,” “Back in the USSR,” “I Gotta Feeling,” “Paperback Writer,” “A Day in the Life,” “Let It Be,” “Live and Let Die,” “Hey Jude,” “Day Tripper,” “Get Back,” “Yesterday,” “Helter Skelter” and “Sgt. Pepper.”

Senior Editor John Katsilometes will be posting his Macca concert story in The Kats Report on Las Vegas later today.
