I 'm aware of that debate,but it's definatly Mary,as she looks exactly the same in the other photos taken after her birth,as for Paul's hair it is the way it was durin the Beatles last photo shoot at Tintenhurst Park. Paul's hair in 77 was very different.
It does look like the hair of the Tittenhurst photo shoot, but it doesn't look like the hair of the picture taken in the hospital, or the LIFE magazine cover when Mary was about the same size. It's a mystery! :)
I don't see how anyone to think this is James? Paul looks so young! He's hardly old enough for it to be James (he was 35 when James was born).
As for the LIFE magazine cover - Mary was nearly 3 months old as it was in November, plenty of time for Paul's hair to grow as in these photos, she's a newborn. All that actually had to grow out is the front of his hair as the back of it is actually shorter in November than it was in August.

I have to agree about his hair. Look at his sideburns in the late summer of 1969 and then look at his hair in the 1970's. Not the same.
