An Interview With James McCartney
"With love, and through love..."
James McCartney: Well first, it's simply a song I love playing. But also because it's a song that really reflects my musical influences, and one of the ones more on the rock side. Nirvana, etc. It's a little less poppy than some of the others.
LD: You mentioned Glisten is about rehabilitation. Could you elaborate a bit?
JM: It's about transcending. About coming out of a dark place, and trying to do so with love, and through love.
LD: What's it like working with your record company, ECR? How do they help you to make your vocation your vacation?
JM: Blake Morgan is on both sides of the business, first as a recording artist himself, but also as a record label founder and CEO. We're on similar artistic paths, and trying to achieve the same things. We're like-minded, and Blake is a good friend. It's a dharma thing.
LD: What are you enjoying now? What brings you peace?
JM: I'm enjoying being in Amsterdam at the moment, actually. But mostly working on new songs, and getting ready to begin recording what will be my new album. What brings me peace? Meditation, for sure. And recently, drinking warm milk if you can believe!

Lyrics to Glisten Well this feeling that I have deep inside meAvailable Light is available on Amazon.com.
Is something new I'll never hide from you
Please be there for me tonight
And I don't feel that you're recognizing your true potential
And I'm not going to put up with it for that much longer
I will wait here by your side
Let me love and I will try
The water keeps dripping onto my hair
The room is so cold
But I know that you'll be here
Steam surrounds me
But it'll disappear
I don't have much left
Except the love I hope appears
So come on hold me deep tonight
Because all I want to feel is you deep inside me
And like a wind and tidal wave that lasts forever
Breathe with me now
The water keeps dripping onto my hair
The room is so cold
But I know you'll be here
Steam surrounds me
But it'll disappear
I don't have much left
Except the love I hope appears
This must be the shortest interview ever lol
