City in Ecuador puts giant Paul McCartney logo on side of mountain

The stunt is to mark the Beatles legend's first ever performance in the country

Local authorities and the Ecuadorian Beatles fanclub have teamed up to create
a giant monument to Paul McCartney to mark his first ever concert in the South American country.

The former Beatle last night (April 28) performed at the Estadio De Liga in Quito and
to mark the occasion, the logo from McCartney's 2013 album 'New' was recreated on the
Pichincha Mountain, where it could be seen from much of the city.

Taking place at 2,800 metres above sea level, the Quito show was the highest concert
McCartney has ever performed. He will later this week perform in Costa Rica for the first time as the
 'Out There' tour continues.

Paul McCartney played:

'Eight Days A Week'
'Save Us'
'All My Loving'

Paul McCartney To Close Out Candlestick Park With Concert

SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) – Paul McCartney will play the final concert at Candlestick Park, the singer announced Thursday.
San Francisco won the tug of war with Santa Clara, which had hoped to book the legendary Beatles singer and guitarist to open Levi’s Stadium, the 49ers new home.
Instead, McCartney will return to the venue where the Beatles played their last paid concert on Aug. 29, 1966. Tickets will cost considerably more than the $4.50 to $6.50 the Fab Four were charging back then.
The San Francisco 49ers, which had hoped to lure McCartney to Levi’s Stadium, issued a statement: “We are excited to hear that Paul McCartney will play the final concert ever at Candlestick Park. It is sure to be a great event for the entire Bay Area and we are pleased to provide support in any way we can.”
And unlike that concert, this one set for Aug. 14 will probably sell out. Tickets go on sale May 5.

San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee started courting McCartney to close The ‘Stick last summer when McCartney performed at the Outside Lands festival in Golden Gate Park.
